Legacy 3270 Interface Retirement

GuardIEn currently supports two styles of user interface for the host encyclopaedia:

• Graphical User Interface (GUI)
• 3270 / TSO User Interface (TSO)

The GUI interface is available as both a client/server and Windows ODBC implementation and has been available since 1997. The GUI interface is also common between the client/server encyclopaedia and host encyclopaedia versions of GuardIEn.

Since 1997 the vast majority of enhancements in GuardIEn have only been available in the GUI interface and this is the interface that is used by most GuardIEn users.

IET plan to withdraw support for the 3270/TSO user interface from the next release of GuardIEn (8.1) and customers who use this interface should migrate to using the GUI interface.
