genIE Direct is available for both the CA Gen host encyclopaedia (HE) and client/server encyclopaedia (CSE).
You can either access the encyclopaedia purely from the workstation using ODBC or use genIE in a client/server configuration with client software operating on the workstation and the server software executing on the server platform.
